Aug 8, 2013 - Buckingham Fountain, Chicago

Looking for a place to chill out with your friends this weekend? How about chartering a Chicago bus and head down to chill at the Buckingham Fountain at Grant Park, Chicago? Fancy as the name is, it is considered to be one of the country’s finest fountains because of the Beaux-Arts style kind of landscape design, with its finely wrought bronze sculptures too.

The Buckingham Fountain is open for visits from mid April all the way to mid October and it also depends very much on the condition of the weather for the day too. When it is open to the public, the fountain runs from 8 o’clock in the morning until 11 o’clock in the night. If you have a whole day to spend, you can choose to spend some time at the Buckingham Fountain in the morning, and then leave to visit some other places of interest nearby before you return later in the evening to see the water displays that is accompanied with music and colorful lights. On the dot of every hour, the Buckingham Fountain will have a water display for about twenty minutes and the amazing thing is that the center jet of the fountain is able to shoot as high as 150 feet into the air!

In our opinion, the best time to visit the Buckingham Fountain would be in the late afternoon, just before dinner. Since you will be visiting with your friends in a chartered Chicago bus, why not pack along a picnic dinner? After all, they have benches near the fountain, so a picnic dinner is as good as a picnic lunch. Not only do you get to enjoy the water displays during the daytime, you get to enjoy dinner in a serene surrounding and then watch the beautiful display of the fountain in the night with colorful choreographed lights and music! There is so much space at the fountain area that you can even lie down and no one would bother you at all.

When you come here with your friends to the Buckingham Fountain, you and your friends will surely be so enticed with the beautiful water displays in the evening that you probably wish it didn’t have to end so quickly. Be sure to bring along your camera with you on this trip to the Buckingham Fountain in the chartered Chicago bus – you would not want to miss out on the beautiful shots of the water displays in the night!
