Established in 1868, this zoo was the home to a single bear situated in the northern area of Chicago and now it houses more than 1,000 animals from around the world such as lions, tigers, giraffes and great apes. The Lincoln Park Zoo is also the one of the very few free zoos in the States. The best time visit the zoo is during winter because it is when the ZooLight celebration takes place where visitors will be able witness the 49-acres zoo transform into a winter wonderland, decorated with Christmas lights, music and meet Rudolph. The zoo is located within the 1,200-acres of Lincoln Park.
